Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 delivers efficient data provisioning

The Veeam Cloud Protection Trends Report 2023 showed that nearly 90% of Microsoft 365 customers are using backup and recovery solutions other than the integrated options. The need to protect their SaaS environments and be prepared for potential cyber-attacks is forcing enterprises to address the issues of better securing data. It is Veeam Backup that delivers effective data backup and recovery options for Microsoft 365. It already protects more than 14 million users worldwide. The new v7 version has introduced some innovations and strengthened data protection in Microsoft 365. The new model provides:

  • non-negotiable advances,
  • advanced monitoring and analytics across the entire backup infrastructure environment,
  • high control thanks to deeper integration with Veeam Service Provider Console.

The main advantages of v7 include: full visibility, protection from ransomware attacks and downtime, but also data protection in the event of an employee leaving. The importance of protecting sensitive business data, as well as ensuring fast data recovery after attacks, is a priority for Veeam, providing users and IT administrators with peace of mind and confidence when managing data in Microsoft 365.

The leader in backup, recovery and data management

Veeam Software is a true market leader in backup, recovery, data management and data protection. It delivers a unified platform for its customers, in cloud, virtual, SaaS, Kubernetes or physical environments. Data is reliably protected against ransomware and cyber attacks with Veeam software. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 saw huge year-on-year growth (up 73%) in 2022, and up to 8.5 million users rely on Veeam to protect their data. Data from the entire Microsoft 365 data set is protected, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.

“We’ve already seen a significant growth in demand for Microsoft 365 solutions with the rise of working from home, where data protection and availability have become more important than ever. Due to these facts, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is the fastest growing Veeam product globally and on the Czech market, with small organisations, medium-sized enterprises and large multinational corporations interested in it. Since its launch, we have seen high demand, which is a clear signal that data protection in Microsoft 365, backup and continuous availability are top priority,” explains Martin Štětka, Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Veeam Software.

This increase is just proof of the irreversible importance and need for data protection by businesses or users. The reliability of Veeam’s software is easily sought after and validated by the interest of many customers.

Reasons to protect your Microsoft 365 environment

In addition to the threat of data loss due to ransomware or cyber-attacks, companies feel the need to protect their SaaS environment for other reasons. More than half of enterprise backup and SaaS administrators cite accidental data deletion as the biggest reason. The time spent subsequently restoring user data that has been accidentally deleted is their biggest concern.
That’s why Veeam Backup for Microsoft v6, available in March 2022, delivers a streamlined, self-service portal that makes IT backup administrators’ jobs easier, saves time, and allows them to securely delegate the restoration of emails, files, and other data from a single location. This way, when data is accidentally deleted, users can restore data themselves. Time is saved and yet everything is sufficiently secured and protected.
